The Art of Flavour.

13th-19th June 2026 | Limited Spaces

An Exclusive Culinary & Wellness Retreat

13–19 June | Château de Cadrès, France

The Art of Flavour is a six-night culinary and wellness residency held in an exclusive château in southwest France. Limited to six guests, the experience brings together hands-on, vegetable-led cooking, thoughtful wine pairings, embodied practices, and deep rest. Days unfold slowly between the kitchen, the table, and the surrounding landscape, with the space for learning, creativity, and integration. This is an intimate, immersive exploration of flavour — not only on the plate, but in how we move, eat, and live.

a residency is for those who value time, intention, and craft — people drawn to food as culture and conversation, who prefer thoughtful pacing and generous hospitality in intimate settings.

The Cuisine.

Cuisine at The Art of Flavour is guided by Jen, a private chef specialising in seasonal, plant-forward cooking with modern European influences. Her approach is rooted in simplicity and flavour, shaped by a lifelong connection to seasonal produce and a belief in food as a way to gather and connect.

Menus are built around vegetables at their peak, prepared with care and attention to balance. Dishes feel refined yet comforting, with familiar flavours gently elevated, allowing ingredients to speak for themselves. The emphasis is on generosity rather than performance, creating meals that feel nourishing, considered, and deeply satisfying. You’ll work with exceptional produce, learning how to layer taste, texture, and aroma with confidence and intuition.

Cooking and dining unfold at an unhurried pace. Meals are often shared, encouraging conversation and connection around the table, while remaining relaxed and inclusive. The cuisine naturally accommodates vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free diets without compromise, ensuring everyone feels considered and well cared for.

Food at The Art of Flavour is not treated as a spectacle, but as part of the rhythm of the days — grounding, generous, and quietly memorable.

The Setting.

Set within ten hectares of private parkland and forest, Château de Cadrès provides a quiet, considered backdrop for The Art of Flavour. Carefully restored, the château retains its architectural character while offering spaces that feel calm, spacious, and lived-in.

The kitchens and dining spaces sit at the heart of the house, shaping the natural rhythm of the days. Meals are shared around the table, while terraces and gardens offer places to pause, sit, and enjoy the surroundings at an unhurried pace.

Beyond the château, the landscape opens onto rolling hills, fruit trees, and shaded paths through the grounds. Time is intentionally left open — whether spent by the pool, walking the gardens, or lingering outdoors as the day softens into evening.

The setting invites a slower, more attentive way of living, where food, conversation, and quiet moments unfold naturally.

A Day at the Château.

The Art of Flavour, a culinary residency —

    • The day begins slowly, with tea, coffee, and a gentle yoga practice.

    • A relaxed breakfast is shared together.

    • The kitchen opens for the day’s culinary session. Each class is hands-on and exploratory, focused on technique, flavour-building, and the intelligence of vegetables. Space for questions, experimentation, and conversation — not a demonstration, but a shared practice.

    • The dishes prepared in the morning are enjoyed together, paired with thoughtfully chosen wines, if desired. Meals are unhurried, generous, and convivial.

    • Afternoons are intentionally spacious. Depending on the day, this may include a visit to a biodynamic farm, a tasting, or time to rest.

    • Guests gather for an optional evening sound journey — a sensory practice designed to integrate the day’s experiences and invite deep rest.

    • Dinner follows: seasonal, elegant, and generous. Wine flows easily, conversation deepens, and the château settles into quiet.
